Welcome back to Broad New World. I’m your host, Nick Broadhurst, also known as Broadhurst in the music world. And you can catch all of my work at www.broadhurst.world and that also includes my music, my music videos, podcasts, blog posts, everything that I do.
And if you listen to music on Spotify, please head to broadhurst.world/Spotify and it will take you straight to my artist profile. Or of course just search the word Broadhurst in Spotify, or iTunes, or wherever you listen to music and you can check out all of my music, including on YouTube as well.
And that song you were listening to is a remix of my very first single, Little Lover, and that remix is by a young French producer called Teemid, and he is super talented. And I have another remix coming out very soon of one of my latest tracks, Open Wide. Which is also being done by Teemid and it’s awesome. You can hear that full remix at broadhurst.world/Little Lover.
What makes some people extraordinarily wealthy while others struggle? Are they more worthy than most of the population, are they more ruthless, more blessed, more talented, smarter? Or perhaps there’s just one simple thing that they do which sets them apart, and best of all, you can start doing this today as well.
And I was inspired to do this episode today after I got off a group business mentoring call last night with a beautiful big bunch of women, which is part of a group that Melissa and I started last year called The Path to Freedom. And I think today it’s over 1,300 people are in Path of Freedom, which is amazing. You can learn all about that at today’s shows notes, broadhurst.world/37.
But the call last night was about wealth and abundance. And we covered a lot of ground, like rewriting your money story, creating your own success statement. I actually spoke about this in episode number 27, which is broadhurst.world/27, Creating Success on Your Own Terms. And so so so much more we spoke about.
And then we got to goals, and I’m not sure where this next statement comes from, but I once read it and it goes like this: millionaires read their goals once a day, billionaires read their goals twice a day. Now, I’m not sure that we can totally generalize about every single billionaire doing that, but I’m sure there is plenty of truth to this. And it’s something that Melissa and I do. And we’re always pretty amazed at how powerful it is.
And I love setting goals, I really do. But what can often be lacking in goal setting I believe is a more holistic approach. So what I want to do today is work with you to set some more heart based goals. And we do this by dividing them into four categories. And this ensures that we’re not just focused on ourselves.
When we create goals that are bigger than ourselves, the universe or God or source or love, whatever you want to call it, but I call it the universe, is more likely to respond kindly and reward you.
And one of my mentors, Dr. John DeMartini, he said, “Your wealth and fulfillment in life are expressions of your heart, mind, and soul. The more the latter are awakened, the more the former may be elevated.” And I just love that. I love that so much. And I often visualize this and I talk about this a lot.
You know a thimble, that little thing you put on your finger when you’re sewing, if you hold out a thimble to the universe, when you ask the universe and you hold out a thimble, then a thimble you shall receive. Because a thimble is, I sort of picture a thimble as when you are focused more on yourself, one word, yourself.
But if you hold your arms open wide to receive all the blessings that the universe can bestow upon you, then I picture this more of being of service. When you hold a vision for something that’s bigger than yourself, you allow for the universal flow of energy and abundance to take care of all your needs and desires in the process.
And when I say bigger than yourself, I mean yourself is one world, right? Self with a small s. Your Self in two words, self with a big s, I refer to that as being the higher you; Your Self. We want to create goals with our Self in mind, capital s.
And you know, money is energy. It’s a beautiful thing. Abundance allows you to give and be of service in ways that you never dreamt possible. And money flows all around you all the time. If you haven’t created the abundance that you desire, maybe you simply forgot to pay a visit to the cosmic or infinite ATM. Perhaps you lost your password to your infinite debit card.
And these exercises are about learning how to tap into something bigger so that you may tap into that infinite bank account. And perhaps look at it this way, make your spiritual life a business and your business life a spiritual experience. Just sit with that for a sec. Make your spiritual life a business and your business life a spiritual experience.
So the four categories we’re going to cover today for goal setting is health, wealth, love, and spiritual. I am going to give you an example of one of my goals in each category and then we’ll talk about when you should read these goals for maximum impact.
So let’s start with health. And I always start each goal with the two most powerful manifesting words. And I know this sounds woo woo, guys, but I always say there is nothing but woo woo. The woo woo is where it’s at. These two words are ‘I am’. ‘I am’ are incredibly powerful words.
So one of my health goals, and this is very simple, four little words, ‘I am baby ready’. Now to me that just means that that’s like everything I need to know in four words. I’m not even going to think about creating life until I am in peak condition. There is so much implied in those four words. They’re very easy for me to remember and they mean so much to me.
And it’s connected to something just outside of myself as well. So that’s just one of my health goals. I’ll let you create whatever health goals you like. But I have about 4 or 5 health goals.
Next is wealth. Now, with wealth everyone has different expectations when it comes to wealth. For me my wealth goals are attached more to the feeling of what I’ve created than the actual numbers. So I’m going to let you play around with that one because I don’t want to create any comparisonitis by sharing too much of my own wealth goals in detail. But it’s a fun one, have fun with that.
The next one is love. And one of the things I say in love is, I am a listener, lover, laugher, and giver. And again in that simple statement there is so much implied. If I’m a good listener, that means the world to my wife, that means the world to my son, if I’m a good listener.
If I’m a good lover, man I’ll tell you what, everything just flows. I spoke about this recently in episode number 32, broadhurst.world/32, An Orgasm a Day Keeps the Divorce Lawyer Away. And being a good lover when you are in companionship, in a relationship with another person is the juice, it’s the glue that binds us. The bricks are the love and making love is the glue that holds us together.
The next one is a laugher, that means like have fun, play. There’s a lot implied in that word. And a giver. I want to give not just to Leo, Melissa, or my family, but to everybody. That’s how I perceive myself from the perspective of love. And I have more goals than that in love but that’s a good one. I am a listener, a lover, a laugher and a giver.
And then there is spiritual. Now, my goal or my statement is, I am choosing love in every moment. Now that’s actually a definition of a master from the book, Conversations with God, Volume 1. So for me my goal is, in fact, mastery. And there’s a lot of work that needs to be done to be able to sit in the middle and choose love.
To sit in the discomfort and choose love is so much work to be done. But I am choosing love in every moment implies so much to me. And obviously there’s way more in my goals than just those points and there will be way more in yours as well. I just don’t want to share too many and influence what feels true to you.
And if you want that house paid off, or a certain dollar amount in the bank, then go for it. As I said, money is a beautiful thing. Just connect to something higher than yourself first in some of the other areas of your goal setting and in your wealth goals too if you can.
So, when do you read them? This is important. Have them written out. I actually typed mine out and printed them because it just feels like they are embedded. There’s two times I want you to read your goals, first thing when you wake up and the last thing before you go to sleep.
Now we want to propel ourselves into each day with the energy of what inspires us most. This makes us just start the day with beautiful intentions of creation, manifesting, being of service. Doesn’t that just make sense?
You know, we don’t want to start the day with, “Oh my God, I’m so tired, I can’t believe the alarm clock just won’t shut up.” We don’t want to start the day like that. We want to start the day with our goals in an inspired state.
And then the last time obviously is before we go to bed. We want to go to bed with our dreams infused with the intentions of being more than we were yesterday and being of service to ourselves and to the world. And just remember, affirmations and goals they don’t work if they’re just statements of what you want. Affirmations and goals work if they are something that you already know and feel to be true.
So thank you so much for joining me again for another episode of Broad New World. You can get all of the show notes at broadhurst.world/37. And you can also get a full transcript of the show there as well. And please do me a massive favor, please head into iTunes and leave me a 5 star review and tell me what you are enjoying about the podcast and what you want more of. Because as I said, I’m always here, I’m of service to you and I want to speak about the things that you want to hear about.
And if you could do me another massive favor and just share this with one person today, or on your social media using my handle @broadhurstworld so I can see your comment or your share; I would love, love it if you could do that for me.
And remember, remember today to look up, see the beauty around you, see the beauty within you, be gentle with yourself, be love, listen to your intuition, set your heart-based goals, read them twice a day, and as always, have a beautiful day. I love you heaps. Ciao.
